About the Facilitators

The workshops are guided by Dr Dimitri Tsakas and Michelle Tsakas—two experienced social workers whose decades of practice span counselling, mental health, community engagement and therapeutic support.

Michelle, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, brings extensive counselling experience through her private practice, Conscious Mind, supporting people to find greater clarity, understanding and emotional wellbeing. Dimitri brings extensive experience in mental health social work, together with significant aged care governance and board management experience.

Together, they bring both professional expertise and a deeply human understanding of the complexities families can experience when someone they love enters or lives in aged care. This workshop creates space to explore changing family roles, difficult emotions, relationships, loss, responsibility and the challenges of caring—helping families find greater understanding, connection and meaning through what can be a profound period of transition.
