Training in Human Services

Good practice in human services rests upon self-awareness and an openness to growth. Whether you are leading a team, supporting clients, or responding to a crisis, recognising your own reactivity and reading a room accurately leads to better decisions and safer outcomes.

Our training ranges from de-escalation and crisis intervention to emotional awareness and leadership, giving staff at every level the time and the tools to build these skills. We deliver it in-house, shaped not by a fixed programme but by what your organisation tells us it needs.

Programmes

Each programme can be run as described or shaped around your team.

Emotional intelligence for leaders

Half day or full day · Managers, team leaders, executive teams

Participants will:

  • map what sets off their own reactions, using the Trigger-to-Choice Chain

  • respond to strong emotion in others with the five PAUSE steps

  • run a short, safe check-in with their team using the OPEN meeting format

  • leave with a plan for one real situation they are facing now

Leading under pressure

Half day · Leaders in demanding roles, including health, community and human services

How pressure shows up in decisions and relationships. Noticing early signs of burnout in yourself and your team. Holding difficult conversations. Staying steady through change.

Reflective supervision for team leaders

Full day · Team leaders and coordinators in disability, youth, aged care and community services

What supervision is for, how to run a supervision conversation, giving useful feedback, noticing vicarious trauma, and recording and following up.

How it works
